If you don't buy a TV, the terrorists win.

Remember when shopping was patriotic, and all we had to do to escape the terror of a code orange day was go to the mall?

Who did that help exactly? Other than the credit card companies. Does all of the crap filling your closets make you feel safer?

It's taken 6 years but Americans are finally waking up to the fact that Bush & Cheney's "Let the men handle this, don't bother your pretty heads, go to the mall" strategy is the exact opposite of what is good for our nation.

Look! We shopped too much, over extended, refinanced to pay off some debt, acquired more debt, now we're sitting on houses worth less than we owe on them. But they're stuffed with top of the line electronics, so there's that.

It has never been your job to support the economy single-handedly, stop letting them make you feel guilty for cutting up your credit cards and paying down your debt. Pay attention to what you spend and where you spend it, pretty soon you'll be paying attention to other things too.

Just something to keep in mind as November the 6th approaches.
