You know what's not funny?

Racists aren't funny.

This from another message board:

Democratic unity my ass. How 'bout good ole' USofA unity? Not white vs black, hispanic vs white/black, chinese, japanese, muslim, catholic, baptist or what-have-you...just good ole' what's best for the country.

Obama and his wife are black separatists. They didn't stay at that church for 20 years and not know that the people they go to church with are racists. They freaking well knew it, believed it, lived it and haven't (pardon the pun) changed colors, sides, or spots...they're just playing nice for the presidential race. I have no regard for a racist, and Obama and Michelle are racists. Period.

I have never been to a church who preaches, halleuljahs and jumps up and down for what that church gets worked up over. Boils my blood. That is not a church, it is a political forum.

AND for the record, I'm not a bummed out Hillary supporter. I'm not democratic, nor republican. Out of the three evils, she was going to be the best one. If I had my choice, we'd start from scratch and find somebody else. And, while I'm ranting, this delegate, electoral bullshit is just that. The whole system should be re-vamped to be the voice of the people, not some good ole boys in the back room.

In the interest of fairness and full disclosure I should  say that this same poster has argued that slaves were happy and well fed/taken care of.   So obviously she's bright, well spoken and knows about history and culture.  Also, it would surprise me to learn she was registered to vote.
In my administration I'll make sure that she gets TWO sticks of dynamite, just in case.

I notice that it's normally people who are afraid of anyone who isn't like them who are the loudest supporters of uniting the country beyond color or creed.  I can't blame them, it's worked out really well for them historically.  White people stay in power, hire their white friends, enough "minorities" to fill the quota and everyone gets to feel good about themselves for their truly progressive attitudes.

In one of his stand up shows Chris Rock explains the difference between being rich and having wealth.   "Shaq is rich, The white man that signs his check is wealthy.''  It's like that with power and equality as well.  We're all perfectly equal until a black man threatens the status quo by daring to become the most powerful man on the planet.  Then rednecks with "black best friends" everywhere are looking at eachother uncomfortably...

"Frighteningly Sad" McCain's speech hits video.

Pretty much the worst speech I’ve ever seen, mute didn’t help, fast forwarding helped a little. The man looks so uncomfortable being forced to display some kind of positive emotion. Smiling while he lies obviously makes him sweat. He’s just creepy. I know I keep using that word, but I can’t think of a better one.

He smiles while he lies to our faces, thinking we can’t or won’t or don’t already know the truth. He smiles while he blames the high cost of healthcare on too much government regulation! He smiles when he says he would never have allowed Katrina to be as badly handled as it was, when he was WITH BUSH eating CAKE while Katrina was happening! He smiles because he’s old and has no idea that every lie he tells, has told, and will tell are all saved, can all be brought out at any time to compare to the truth.

McClellan, preemptive confession before the Dems take over.

The day news of Scott McClellan's book hit MSNBC like a tidal wave I got so excited I ordered the book. I can't stand Scott McClellan, I despise that he chose now to come forward about their lies and his own hesitations. Where was here in 2003? Where was he $524,908,000,000+ dollars ago? 4086 American Soldiers ago? Oh, sure, he was parroting the Bush administration and misinforming the public. Right. Thanks Scott.

Back to why I got excited.... I think the Republicans are running scared and I think this book and it's timing is proof. Barring catastrophe the Democrats will win the White House and secure a comfortable lead in the House and Senate. There is NO doubt in my mind that the investigations will begin on day one. Criminal Investigations, the kind that will make C-SPAN the new CourtTV. The ones that will renew our faith in Democracy and Karma. McClellan has decided in advance where he'll be when the investigations begin, he'll be testifying against his former handlers, the ones who fed him misinformation, and whose misinformation we paid him to knowingly disseminate to us.

Last Friday he came out and said so. He'll "be glad to testify". Of course you will, Scott. You don't want to share a cell with Karl Rove. That could never be good.

Why I think about moving.

I'm told that anyone who thinks about moving in times of political crisis lacks patriotism. For me it's the opposite, it's like being married to an abusive drug addict. You love them, and you try to help, down to selling things off to be able to afford rehab only for them to go back to using as soon as they get home. Eventually you have to leave, it's not healthy to stay with them, it's terrible for the children to see their dad spiraling further and further out of control and you just need to remember what they were like before.

I love this country, I'm not sure it's worth trying to save anymore though. It's rotten in it's abuse of the 98% of Americans who aren't millionaires. It's addicted to power and high on record corporate profits. It denies children heathcare while it makes it's rich friends even richer on the backs and blood of it's soldiers. It defies basic scientific principles in favor of fanatical religion, twisting it so tightly with our government that the two are no longer distinguishable. It SHOOTS IT'S FRIENDS IN THE FACE, and then gets the one shot to apologize for being in the way of the blast!

I understand how hard it is to stage an intervention, to offer help to those who don't think they need it. The country needs the intervention that the Democrats are offering, we expect a little bit of abuse- what we don't expect is to be forced to apologize for everything everyone we've ever met has ever said. Or else maybe, before we leave the abuser for good- we might try giving them a taste of their own medicine...

McCain can be linked to the KKK and David Duke in fewer steps than would win you a good Kevin Bacon game.

Richard Quinn, McCain's South Carolina Spokesman, Criticized the MLK Holiday
as "Vitriolic and Profane." Richard Quinn, identified as "McCain's
South Carolina strategist" in 2008, also worked for the Senator in the 2000
campaign. In 1983, Quinn wrote a column "arguing against the
recognition of Martin Luther King Day," saying, "King Day should have been
rejected because its purpose is vitriolic and profane. The Black leaders who
lobbied so furiously for King Day confirmed another unpleasant reality. By
celebrating King as the incarnation of all they admire, they have chosen to
glorify the histrionic rather than by heroic and by inference they spurned
the brightest and best among their own race." [Greenville News,
3/16/2008; Spartanburg Herald-Journal, 1/6/2006; Philadelphia Tribune,
2/22/2000]

-- Quinn Served As Editor Of Magazine Described As "Rabidly Devoted To The South's Confederate Heritage." In its November 2004 issue, Vanity Fair described Southern Partisan, the magazine of which Richard Quinn served as editor, as "rabidly devoted to the South's Confederate heritage." [Vanity Fair, 11/2004]

-- Quinn Praised Ku Klux Klan Member David Duke. In Southern Partisan, Quinn praised David Duke in a 1990 entry, writing, "what better way to reject politics-as-usual than to elect a maverick like David Duke?" [Newsday, 2/17/2000]

-- McCain Repeatedly Defended Quinn, Refused To Fire Him Despite Views.
In 2000, when the group, People For the American Way, called on McCain to fire Richard Quinn, McCain defended him saying, "this is a fine man who worked for Ronald Reagan and Strom Thurmond and other fine people." In a 2000 ABC News interview, McCain said Quinn was "a man who is very intelligent, and a man who has done a great job for me in the state of South Carolina. And I do not believe that he is a racist." [Associated Press, 2/18/2000; ABC News, "This Week," 2/6/2000]

OH! "Maverick" isn't that what they're calling McCain now? That has to mean something damning!! Obviously the man is incapable of character judgement or else he just doesn't care which wouldn't be surprising either. Look at how the Bush administration has carried on full of questionable criminals, and they've all gotten RICH! That is afterall the point of public service, right?

The Country needs to take the help it's being offered, it needs to admit it has a problem, it needs to focus on things that will actually improve the lives of the people instead of wasting precious time on the stupid bullshit.

Soon, or I'm leaving. Because I just can't take the abuse anymore.

A comment on acting.

Not a crisis, not political, not even sports- but funny, probably because it's true- so I had to share.

"Cameron Diaz was spotted in Santa Monica on the set of "My Sister’s Keeper" yesterday, in which she plays the sister of a girl with leukemia. In the movie, Cameron’s character shaves her head as a show of support. In reality, Cameron took the easy way out and used a cap and makeup. So now this movie about sick little kids looks like some kind of alien invasion project. She looks like that little kid from X-Men 3. A real actor would have shaved their head. Daniel Day Louis would have actually given himself leukemia."

Dear God,

Thank you for making your followers so fucking crazy. Nothing says “Choose Agnosticism” like individuals who use religion to justify their vicious bigotry.

I read this on a message board today:

We are made two types of human bodies, male and female, and they are
designed God or nature to function together. Two men’s bodies are not created to
unite. To do so is to pervert both God and nature. It’s perverted in my opinion,
disgusting, repulsive. And to openly acknowledge it is to thrust that perversion
in my face. It is no different than my view of driving down the highway and
passing billboards for adult video stores, or hearing them on the radio (the
rule is the stations that play their ads do not work in my car)

As an American I feel I deserve the equal right to a life free from the
beliefs of others that I do not agree with… just like we removed prayer from
school because it was offense to the minority. Those lifestyles and ideals are
highly offensive to me and I deserve the freedom to not have then sholved in my
face and the perceptions of my children. Why should I always be the
one to be infringed upon for the sake of others indulgences?

If homosexuality were treated as a malformity, a disease, I would have more compassion. But our society treats it as an acceptable lifestyle.

After I read that I felt sick and couldn’t eat. Thank you God for putting these repugnant bigots in my path, it’s an excellent diet.

Thank you for giving me real life examples to show my children why our form of government was created to protect the minority from the potential tyranny of the majority. I find it’s always good to have a “what not to do” example, so they can see how truly ugly that behavior is.

If you actually exist could you please be like a combination of Tommy Chong and the Dalai Lama?

Thanks again.
